Dim Sum Sam is a popular spot in New York City known for serving traditional Cantonese dim sum in a casual, modern setting. It has three main locations: Flatiron (28 E 23rd St), Times Square (240 W 40th St), and FiDi (123 William St). The restaurant is praised for its fresh, handmade dim sum, with standout dishes like shrimp dumplings, BBQ pork buns, and roast duck over rice. The minimalist vibe, combined with a made-to-order approach, ensures a fresh and flavorful experience. The roasted duck egg middle soup was good. The cucumber salad was nice. The Siu Mai was yummy. Quick service, self service, clean spot, and nice folks here.

Yeah! Late night run to the subway and I saw it on the road. It's away from the tourist time square area - just the way we like it. Has 2 different Baos - suck and pork belly. Both excellent and good portions. I love how it's served a-la-carte without me ordering a whole duck. Satisfied my midnight hunger.

I grew up in NJ and used to go to NYC for Cantonese food and dim sum almost every weekend growing up. Now I'm a Cali adult, and boy do I miss NYC Chinese food. Recently, a work trip allowed me to stay in NUC for two weeks, and I thought I would hit Chinatown every night. Well, Uber Eats allowed me to discover Dim Sum Sam. I love this place! The food is legit. The price is not bad. And they are open til midnight! Ding ding ding, winner winner chicken dinner! Well, not chicken... but that is besides the point. My go to here is the bbq pork over rice. Yummy! I ask for extra soy sauce because... it's freakin' good! Also, the Portuguese egg tarts is a must have. I don't know how they always seem to be fresh and warm and delicious! I brought some from NYC back to Cali, and it was still delicious! I really miss Dim Sum Sam now. Perhaps I can interest them in opening a franchise restaurant in San Jose?

Authentic Cantonese cuisine according to my Hong Kong born lunch mate. The wonton soup broth was light and savory. The wonton was thin and filled with pawns and pork. It was absolutely delicious!!!! The beef rice rolls, I would give a 4 out of 5, not because it wasn't tasty, it really was. However I'm comparing it to Joe's Rice Rolls which has been by far the best. Their chili oil deserves an award. Omg it was the perfect degree of hot and the taste is like non other I've had so far.. and trust me I've had my share of chili oils. The other dishes smelled heavenly, the duck, bbq pork and pork belly smelled and looked delightful. I'll definitely return to try the other dishes.

Came again but for lunch time! They had special deals with bbq pork over rice. I ended up getting their duck soup again. However, My friends got their spicy cucumbers, crispy pork belly, and congee. Their portions are large, especially for their congee and soups if you dine in! - Spicy Cucumber: lovely crunch. Delicious as a side dish that pairs well with the heavy pork belly - Crispy Pork belly: salty and full of flavor and fats. It's a heavier dish but a must. Get something refreshing to eat with it. Would order again especially if I'm craving something meaty - Congee: surprisingly had some flavor! Eat with the hot sauce. There is no self serve water station here but they'll happily give you cups of water!

TLDR: You can get authentic Cantonese BBQ meats, wonton noodles, dim sum, etc. by Port Authority & Times Square. Need I say more. The BBQ meats is what's up here and do NOT sleep on the Portuguese egg tart. I was curious when I had heard this spot opened. Found myself in the area and gave it a go. This place gets PACKED at lunch and for good reason. They're not quiet as dim sum focused as Awesum Dim Sum but they have the classics. The real move here is the BBQ meats over rice. The roast pork speciifcally is popular, they even have a lunch set that comes with the aforementioned unmissable egg tart and a drink! For $16.95, yes - it's pricier than Chinatown but then sure, go down to Chinatown to get it a bit cheaper and make it back within an hour. :D The day I went, we went kinda nuts. Rice rolls are decent but I think you can get better elsewhere. Wontons were solid but again - the meats are the wow deal here. I would recommend splurging a bit more to get a combo. That roast pig was RIGHT. Fatty, tender, crispy, all in one bite. HK Milk Tea was excellent. If I'm back in the area, BBQ Meat Combo over Rice, Portuguese Egg Tart and some Canto iced drink. You're welcome.
